In early March, a group of people gathered together to discuss Make Words Matter, which you can read about here.

As part of that evening, a short activity was carried out, designed to find out which words mattered to those who had come out for the evening – both words they wanted to see less use of, and those that they wanted to see flourish in the language around them.

The yellow cards represent those words that people want to see more of:

Acceptable Words

And those words and phrases contained on the orange cards represent language that the group wanted to reduce the use of:

Reduce These Words

It’s an interesting mix of words, we think.

Some almost got lost:

However, we think we managed to capture a good range of thoughts on the evening. Now, we ask, which words would you like to keep using, and which ones are you watching out for? Let us know via Twitter!
